Saturday August 27- We will work scene 2 of Act III and Act I from Gibbs exit to the end of the act.

Called at 1pm: ALL (except Harper) (Kristin and Barb excused) (Jayson excused)

Set Need a board for the couch so people can get in and out of it

Can we secure the movable leg on the back of the table? We don't want someone to accidentally take it out and break our dishes.

Is there any way that we could raise the couch? It is rather low for everyone.

Props We need tea in the tea cups

Need quince as well as jam- quince is completely untouched

Newspaper for Teddy (first scene)

We will definitely need some real biscuits

We need lots of papers around the house

Sounds/Lights/Special FX

Costumes

Facility

Director Need to check the blocking for Elaine's first scene with the ladies

Actors Pacing will be the next big thing we work on. This show will need to be tight.

Crew Jayson, start thinking about and finding prop tables/shelves for backstage areas.

Accident/Incident

Dumb Stuff it's fun to find out Cardinal Gibbons- James Gibbons (July 23, 1834 – March 24, 1921) was an American Cardinal of the Roman Catholic Church. He served as Bishop of Richmond from 1872 to 1877, and as ninth Archbishop of Baltimore from 1877 until his death in 1921. Gibbons was elevated to the cardinalate in 1886, the second American to receive that distinction, after John McCloskey.

Teddy Roosevelt's tumultuous relationship with Japan- goes back to the Russo-Japanese war of 1904-1905. Russia, attempting to head off the expansion of Japan's power in the Northwest of China, moved its Navy into a strategic port city. Japan attacked Russia. Roosevelt was brought in to negotiate peace between the two nations, but he feared the power and expansion of the Japanese empire. The treaty was not received favorably by the citizens of either country and protests and riots broke out in Japan. This response caught the Americans off guard as public opinion had been with Japan throughout most of the conflict. Roosevelt won the Nobel Peace Prize for the negotiations.

Luigi Pirandello- He was awarded the 1934 Nobel Prize in Literature for "his almost magical power to turn psychological analysis into good theatre."

Robert Burns Mantle (December 23, 1873 – February 9, 1948) was an American theatre critic. He founded the Best Plays annual publication in 1920.

There is a cocktail called "Arsenic and Old Lace"- Gin, Absinthe, Crème de Violette, Dry Vermouth, Orange Biters

Quote(s) "Oh no, I always remember that one"- Kaye, regarding a line she had forgotten

"This is not a twilight brothel"- Jake
